The PG-1210 cassette is part of the new SRAM S100 series. This groupset is designed with a focus on durability and a good price-quality ratio. It is SRAM's entry-level series for a reliable system with an expanded gear range. SRAM keeps the groupset simple but it offers everything you need. Due to the focus on robustness, the S100 series is also suitable for use on electric mountain bikes.
The 50T largest sprocket allows for a maximum range of 455% with an HG freehub body. Thus, you can use a larger front chainring and spend more time higher up on the cassette, which is more efficient and causes less wear. With electric bikes, the 11-13-15 cogs are often used. Because they can be replaced separately, it is much cheaper to replace them when they are worn out than having to replace the whole cassette.
